I really want to write something, but I don't know what. Life has sort of become routine. Not really. There are only a few things I can count on each week: work, church and...well, I guess that's it. And even those are subject to change. Maybe we don't have a routine. However, life has a tendency to carry on no matter how different each day, week and month is. And that's what's been happening. We went on another mission trip to Nova Scotia. I had a doctor's appointment and got an Epi-pen and inhaler. Went to a specialist for some skin tests, which came back negative. Eventually I need to go for blood work. We celebrated our one-year anniversary. And now fall is upon us, which will no doubt turn into winter before we are ready. : ( Nothing exciting is happening, nothing new really. Just life.

Recovering....

After four healthy months of nut consumption, I have yet again had an allergic reaction. Why? I don't know. It doesn't make any sense actually. Out of nowhere I have an allergic reaction to pistachio nuts (one of my all-time favorites), I ease myself back into a life of eating nuts (including walnuts), only to have another reaction four months later to walnuts. Sense = None. Yeah, I'm not seeing the logic in this. I mean really, I ate a cookie! There probably wasn't even a whole walnut in it! My goodness. And of course, as reactions progressively get worse, this one happened much faster.  My tongue wasn't nearly as bad, but my throat began closing at the same time and I didn't have any Benedryl with me, go figure. Luckily we were at Sunday School Convention and after having an announcement made concerning my need, a very gracious woman was able to supply. Well, it didn't work quite as well as the first time. My tongue was still bumpy the next morning and my cold came back with a vengeance. Great. Needless to say, it's been a horrible few days. Yet I'm alive and doing better. My husband won't let me eat nuts ever again...but at least he wants to keep me around.

Husband coming home = very happy wife

Yay! I'm so excited! My husband is coming home! I get to pick him up early in the morning and we are locking the door and unplugging the phone! I can't wait! This whole being apart thing - yeah, I don't like it. But I must confess, that saying is finally true (for me), "Distance makes the heart grow fonder." Well, I'm ready to show him just how much!!!!

Well hello all my xanga friends! It has truly been a while.

Life, for those of you who don't get my infrequent emails, has naturally been chaotic. The holidays were a nightmare and a half. (And I don't joke about nightmares; I had one this morning that was absolutely horrifying. I wish I had never decided to try to fall back to sleep. Let me tell you, a lot of terrifying stuff can happen in fifteen minutes!) Allen's grandfather was hospitalized in October and only just got home a couple weeks ago. We really thought he was a goner. Thanksgiving was too much food and too little time (no I don't mean stuffing my face! sheesh!). Christmas seemed like the beginning of the end...it was bad. I won't go into detail, but let's just say I had a huge allergic reaction to pistachio nuts (very bizarre) and everyone thought I was pregnant. I was very excited about it and most everyone else was. But not quite. I was told by someone: "I hope you're not pregnant. You better not be popping out kids before me because I want to have them first!" No, it was none of my siblings nor even a friend. Someone I will in fact never claim as a relation, even if Allen has to in the future. Needless to say, I wasn't pregnant, much to her joy and satisfaction.

Other than those joyous occasions, life has been good. It's far and wide from being "settled," but Allen and I are doing quite well in spite of how hectic it is. Right now he's in the midst of spending nine days at the Armory and I'm getting in some more practice of being on my own. In a month and a half he'll be gone for 25 days for AT in Arizona. I think I can manage. I don't like it when he's gone but he's right, it's not the end of the world.

In a couple of weeks we'll be off to Brazil for eight days! It should be an interesting Work & Witness trip for sure. It's for ministers and families and at the end of the week each pastor will be sent to a different church to spend the night with the local pastor then give the sermon in the morning. Mind you, they don't speak English, and we don't speak Portuguese. At least at church there will be an interpreter. We'll see how it goes!

That's pretty much it. We're busy with church a lot. My kitten (I got him for Christmas) is a handful. His name is Gambit and he's almost four months old now. Now I don't feel so lonely when Allen is gone!

Since this has gotten rather long, I'll say adieu!

Wow, I really need to update...lol! But alas, I don't have time right now. As soon as my husband gets off the phone, we're digging into lunch which I just finished making. So I will have to leave updating for another date. Sorry!
